I offer a relaxing, intuitive, therapeutic touch that responds to what is needed for you in the moment. My practice is a devotion to listening to the body and acknowledging all that it has to teach. In my work, I hold space to be present in our bodies in connection with ourselves and each other. Each session is a safe space for you to be supported to release physical, emotional, and energetic tension. I listen to you and your body in order to weave a massage that is full of light, love, and whatever is needed in that moment.
You are invited to practice receiving, to listen to your body, and to trust the wisdom it offers you. This is the time to be present in your body and connect with yourself to release any tension or stagnant muscles and emotions that are ready to change. I hope that our sessions provide a safe space for you to practice surrendering and releasing whatever it is that is not serving you.
When I am present in my body I am able to be present in the world. My journey as a massage therapist began with me listening deeply to my body and intuition that have led me well. During many summer backpacking trips to the Sierra Nevadas, I started to listen more and more to my heart, my gut, and my body. My days spent hiking from one peak to the next were meditations of being present with my body in nature. After many months on the trail, I have realized that a clear and healthy body is the foundation for my joyous feeling of satisfaction and connection to myself, others, spirit, and nature. It became evident that there is an interconnection between mental and emotional stresses and physical issues such as emotional instability, hormonal imbalances, and digestive problems. This experience of a developed strength and connection between my mind and body has motivated and inspired me, and ultimately informed my decision to devote myself to studying plant medicine, embodied movement, and massage therapy
In Fall 2014, I moved to Oregon to learn about the healing connection between nature and the body in Herb Pharms’ Herbaculture Program. After an extensive training on a herbal farm cultivating a relationship with plants as medicine, I felt called to pursue massage therapy in order to delve deeper into understanding the physical and energetic body.
My foundational trainings in massage therapy were in my hometown at the Sebastopol Massage Center as well as at McKinnon Institute in Oakland. My practice has a foundation in Swedish massage and Eastern techniques. I am trained in specialities such as Oncology, lymphatic drainage, deep tissue, Esalen, aroma-accupressure, and pregnancy massage. I weave together these modalities to create a unique session that is both physically and energetically healing.
In Spring 2017 I completed a Yoga Teacher Training which has deepened my understanding of the body, and therefore my ability to support myself and my clients in my practice. I now incorporate breath work, yoga-nidra (guided relaxation), alignment adjustments, and stretching recommendations into our massage session to support a more holistic approach to finding balance in your body. My 200 hr Yoga Alliance Certified Yoga Teacher Training with Joao Pereira included training in developing a person-specific yoga practice, breath work, and body alignment.
Each step of my journey as a massage therapist has been more inspiring and fulfilling than the last.
I am currently blessed to practice massage throughout the Bay Area. I offer massage at Flourish Integrative Health Center in downtown Santa Rosa on Tuesdays, The Centre in Downtown San Anselmo, and out-calls throughout Marin.
